War reaches a village. The people who remain, the tools they can salvage and the weapons they can repair become the foundations of resistance.
The Resistance: Behind Enemy Lines is a single-player game combining base building, real-time strategy and top-down combat. Lead a guerrilla unit, rebuild strongholds with local soldiers and civilians, organize production and take your place on the firing line.
From a village to a wider resistance
The campaign follows a supply and liaison network from 1938 to 1940, linking scattered workshops, ferry crossings and mountain outposts.- Qingxi — Rebuilding Home: Rebuild a village struck by war. Establish production, recruit defenders and fortify the creek crossing and stone bridge.
- Weiwan Crossing — A Relay Through the Wetlands: Defend a supply relay in central Hebei, where reed beds, waterways, levees and ferry crossings divide your attention.
- Tieluyu — Machines into the Mountains: Head into the Taihang Mountains to protect relocated machinery and workshops among narrow valleys and terraced slopes.
- Shuanghe Station — Across the Blockade: Keep a liaison post operating amid roads, bridges and enemy strongpoints, so people and supplies can keep moving.
- The Zheng-Tai Railway and Mountain Blocking Positions: As the story reaches summer 1940, defend the flanks and support wider operations in fictional missions set against the Hundred Regiments Offensive.
Build a base that sustains the fight
Divide limited resources between production, recruitment, equipment upgrades and defensive positions. Invest in future supplies or strengthen an exposed approach before the next attack. Walk up to construction sites to build and upgrade facilities, shaping the village through your decisions.
Command your troops. Fight beside them.
Rally fighters, assign positions and move reserves between threatened approaches. Aim and fire yourself to support a hard-pressed position or intercept troops breaking through toward your production buildings.
Different ground, different defenses
Narrow village entrances, long levees, mountain paths and open railway approaches call for different deployments. Combine troop roles, fortifications and upgrade choices, then repair losses and rethink your plan between battles.
Every workshop, crossing and liaison post you hold helps the resistance continue.
Based on the historical setting of China's resistance to Japanese invasion. Principal characters, villages and individual missions are fictional.
