This meta visual novel draws from a developer's real journey crafting the game itself. It reimagines that process through atmospheric audio and pixelated graphics, blending entertainment with a personal, dramatized tale that includes alternate endings. Playtime stays short at 13-24 minutes, inviting reflection on creation as art.
Casual indie players who savor brief, introspective sessions find a perfect fit here. The experience prioritizes emotional depth over complex mechanics, delivering a focused narrative loop. Those drawn to experimental visual novels appreciate its raw, self-referential style.
Inspired by Nikita Kryukov's 'Milk inside a bag of milk inside a bag of milk' To Make a Game is a meta visual novel retelling my experience as a developer making this very game.
While this game can be a form of entertainment it is also a deeply personal experience I had. (Although dramatized and peppered with some alternative endings). I wish it to be experienced as a form of art before a game.
