About SEVEIL

SEVEIL - about the game

SEVEIL is a strategy indie game available in early access on PC. It combines deck-building combat with calendar management and narrative progression inside a century-old textile company called VEIL & CO. Players take on the role of Nate Marsh, who joins the firm to investigate his sister's disappearance while navigating workplace demands that double as tactical encounters.

Gameplay

The core loop centers on daily survival within the company structure. A Workplace Survival Assessment at the start assigns one of several archetypes that define resource management and deck construction. These archetypes include Resolve, Rumor, Empower, Overdraft, Blitz, and Leader. Each comes with a unique Keystone card that alters fight dynamics and can shift the entire interface during play.

Combat unfolds through work-related tasks such as projects, performance reviews, overtime requests, and inbox clearing. Players draw from a deck of 118 cards to handle these challenges. Resources like health and mind can be spent for stronger effects or extra actions, while exhaustion tactics allow wearing down opponents without direct confrontation. The weekly calendar serves as the planning hub, where routes through combat nodes, recruitment opportunities, shopping, and recovery determine the next set of encounters and available resources.

Defeated employees can be recruited into the team. Their Employee Modules become active tools that consume energy during routine work but grow stronger with time and merit investment. Merit earned from successes can fuel personal upgrades or sustain the modules. When modules deplete, they go offline permanently, forcing ongoing decisions about team maintenance.

Game Modes

Progression follows a linear story divided into six planned chapters, each advancing the investigation and corporate climb. The initial early access release covers the main content of Chapters One and Two, including the opening sequence, full tutorial, all calendar node types, the complete set of 118 cards across the six archetypes, eight Employee Modules, and three distinct executive encounters. Each executive fight features its own story, agenda, and mechanical twist tied to their position in the hierarchy.

Additional Contracts appear as escalating modifiers that alter runs, while Hegemony Clauses introduce deeper restrictions and challenges. These systems create repeatable structure without traditional game-over states, as every attempt contributes experience toward future attempts. The Corruption system with its nine Mythos cards arrives in later updates, allowing single-use powerful plays at the cost of progressive mental decline.

The demo version available prior to early access launch lets players experience Chapter One using the Rumor or Leader archetypes, building decks and managing a team across three in-game weeks before the first boss.

Story and Progression

The narrative unfolds through workplace conflicts, promotions, and corruption that mirror real corporate pressures. Players uncover fragments of information by defeating executives and exploring the remnants of their influence. Time inside the company does not follow normal rules, allowing repeated runs that build toward an endgame rather than a single conclusion. The contract remains active until specific conditions are met, turning each failure into accumulated knowledge for the next attempt.

Is It Worth Playing?

SEVEIL suits players who enjoy deck-building strategy games with strong narrative integration and resource management layers. The archetype system and calendar planning add meaningful choices to each run, while the employee recruitment and module mechanics create ongoing team-building decisions. Early access currently delivers the opening story chapters, multiple archetypes, and executive fights, with further content scheduled for later updates. Those drawn to single-player experiences focused on corporate themes, tactical card play, and incremental progression will find the systems rewarding. The game rewards careful planning and adaptation over repeated attempts rather than one perfect run.
