DEAD OR ALIVE 6 Last Round delivers a complete package for fans of 3D fighting games on PC. This re-release brings the full roster and systems of the original title together with five additional characters and a dedicated Photo Mode for creating custom scenes.
Gameplay
The core loop centers on one-on-one matches that reward precise timing and defensive reads. Players use holds to counter incoming attacks at the right moment, draining the opponent's Break Gauge and opening opportunities for follow-ups. Building the Break Gauge allows access to powerful special moves, while Fatal Rush provides a straightforward path into extended combos through rapid button inputs. Danger Zones on certain stages add extra damage when opponents are thrown into them.
Photo Mode expands creative options beyond combat. Users select stages and characters, then freely position fighters, adjust poses, expressions, sweat, dirt, and camera angles to capture still images. This tool supports both action shots and posed portraits with detailed customization for lighting and effects.
Game Modes
Story Mode follows the main narrative through cinematic sequences and character-specific episodes. DOA Quest presents a series of missions and tasks that reward costumes and other unlocks upon completion. Fight options include Versus for local matches against AI or friends, Arcade for scoring runs against randomized opponents, and Time Attack for clearing a set number of fights under a time limit.
Online features support Ranked Match for competitive play and Lobby Match for casual sessions. Additional practice tools cover Combo Challenge and command training to refine execution. A free Core Fighters edition limits access to four starting characters while allowing play in most modes except the full Story Mode.
The Roster
The game launches with 29 playable characters. This total incorporates the original lineup plus Nyotengu, Phase 4, Momiji, Rachel, and Tamaki, all available from the start through included unlock keys. Each fighter brings distinct move sets and fighting styles suited to different approaches, from close-range pressure to zoning and counterplay.
Is It Worth Playing?
DEAD OR ALIVE 6 Last Round suits players who prefer 3D fighting games with layered defense mechanics and single-player progression. The included Story Mode and DOA Quest provide substantial offline content, while online ranked and lobby options support ongoing matches. The free Core Fighters version lets newcomers test the systems without cost, and the full edition removes barriers with pre-unlocked characters and the new Photo Mode for creative expression. Those drawn to strategic holds, gauge management, and varied character matchups will find the package rewarding on PC.
