VIDEO CHAPEL is a collaborative project by Jonathan Turner and Marsia Alexander-Clarke exploring the possibilities of experiencing art in virtual space. Within these chambers you will find a selection of works by Alexander-Clarke made for traditional art exhibition. Shifting the venue to virtual space gives us an opportunity to experience the works with new interpretations, freedoms, and constraints. The environment and architecture are both a reflection of Turner’s interest in the ambiguous and perpetual nature of virtual space as well as a meditation on Alexander-Clarke’s “video marks” — how they rhythmically frame fragments of light and experience.

GAMEPLAY
The majority of the gameplay involves exploration and light spatial puzzling.
There are no intentional horror elements or jump scares but some areas feature overwhelming darkness and isolation that may be unsettling to some.
Sound is also an important part of the experience and headphones are highly recommended to appreciate the full effect of the binaural mix.
Multiplayer will be implemented and is encouraged so users can share their experience together.
VR will be implemented for PC (tethered or streamed) but will likely demand a powerful GPU. More details will be provided closer to release.
