About Cosmo Corgis

Cosmo Corgis - about the game

Cosmo Corgis is an indie casual simulation game for PC that places a living miniature planet directly on the desktop. Players oversee an astronaut and corgi as they explore, gather resources, and repair a rocket across procedurally ordered worlds, all while the simulation continues independently in the background.

Gameplay

The core loop centers on passive progression combined with deliberate decision making. An astronaut explores a hand modeled low poly planet that rotates beneath the character. The astronaut selects gathering tasks based on what the rocket requires, walking around lakes and mountains rather than crossing them. Chopping, mining, and hauling materials back to the ship form the visible activity. Oxygen management sends the astronaut home automatically when supplies run low, preventing any permanent setbacks.

Upgrades appear on the ship itself. Six upgrade tracks and four repair milestones per world produce visible changes such as straightened frames, seated hull panels, and sealed engines. Tools evolve physically, with maxed hand tools unlocking a mining laser. Resources gathered fund the next repair or upgrade choice, and the player decides the order and timing of spending.

Each world ends with a launch that transitions to the next planet. Terrain affects movement, and three biomes appear across nine worlds in varying sizes and gravity. Every playthrough shuffles the order of these biomes. A corgi waits on each planet for rescue, riding in the rocket portholes afterward. Every tenth planet returns the crew to a green meadow colony that grows permanently with each visit.

Game Modes

Two distinct modes support different play styles. The primary desktop companion mode runs in a slim always on top window docked at the bottom of the screen. The sky renders transparent so the 3D world floats over the wallpaper. Frame rate stays capped, and click through support keeps the window from interfering with other tasks. Background throttling and a low power render option keep resource use minimal, with the strip idling at a fraction of one CPU core.

Full window mode expands the view to include the complete HUD for focused sessions. This mode presents the same simulation systems without the desktop integration constraints, allowing closer observation of planet rotation, astronaut paths, and ship repairs when the player wants to sit with the experience.

Worlds and Progression

Nine worlds span temperate, desert, and frozen biomes. Each planet features unique gravity and scale that influences how the astronaut moves and gathers. Repairs rebuild the rocket in clear stages, culminating in a launch cinematic that carries the player and rescued corgi toward the next destination. The colony on the home meadow expands steadily as more corgis join, providing a persistent sense of growth across multiple launches.

Days cycle into nights on each world, with campfires appearing and the corgi settling into a sploot while waiting. No timers pressure the player, and oxygen depletion simply redirects the astronaut without failure states or resource loss.

Is It Worth Playing?

Cosmo Corgis suits players who enjoy relaxed simulation experiences that run alongside other activities. The desktop companion format allows passive watching between tasks, while upgrade and repair decisions add light strategy without demanding constant attention. The absence of fail states and the visible ship rebuilding create steady forward momentum. Those seeking a low pressure single player simulation with charming visual progression and a growing corgi colony will find the mechanics align closely with that preference. The game remains available on PC with both companion and full window options to match different routines.
