ChS4T – AC Passenger Locomotive from the Era of Soviet Express Trains
The ChS4T is a modernized Czechoslovak electric locomotive designed for high-speed passenger service on AC-electrified mainlines across the former USSR. Based on the original ChS4 design, it was manufactured by the Škoda Works between 1980 and 1992.
During the 1980s and 1990s, ChS4T locomotives were widely used to haul long-distance express trains. One notable area of operation was the Kyiv-Pasazhyrskyi depot, where these locomotives served until they were gradually replaced by the newer ChS8 series.
