At the end of the war between the righteous sects and the Demonic Cult, the Heavenly Demon descends and the jianghu falls. Then time in the jianghu turns back to a few years before the Demon comes, and the memory of that day settles on someone in the jianghu. If the Demon is not brought down, the jianghu falls again, and the memory passes on to someone new.
Wander the jianghu and gather companions and manuals. Along the way you may stumble on fortunate encounters or step into hidden realms. The map and the manuals you find change every run.
The jianghu allows no take-backs. A road once taken cannot be undone, and a companion once lost never returns.
Every art has a type, such as stacking poison or freezing foes, and pairing arts of different types changes how the same band fights. Add the traits you gain through insight in battle and find the combination that can bring the Heavenly Demon down.
The people you meet on the road come along with arts of their own. Who you take with you is up to you.
Equip arts and set positions before the fight, then watch it unfold on its own. See the plan you made come together.
Break through the Demonic Cult and stand before the Heavenly Demon. Fall, and the jianghu turns back once more. Try a different combination of arts each time.
