About Everyone's dead

Everyone's dead - about the game
About this game:

Everyone’s Dead is a third-person, single-player, story-driven survival horror experience focused on tension, atmosphere, and environmental storytelling.

You are trapped inside an apartment building during the early stages of a pandemic outbreak. With limited resources and no guidance systems, you must navigate dangerous interiors, scavenge for supplies, avoid or confront infected enemies, and make high-risk decisions in order to escape the building and reach your brother.

There are no quest markers or objective arrows, progression is driven through exploration, sound cues, environmental clues, and player observation.

Everyone's dead is unforgiving in the sense that the player cannot stay still and linger. Survival is key in Everyone's dead and because of it's unforgiving nature, saving the game is limited to various checkpoint throughout the level. Your neighbors might have left food or resources that you will be able to use so be vigilant and wary, but remain your focus and stay on track!

Story driven survival horror:

Experience a narrative set during the first stages of a global pandemic. Play as Dan, a survivor forced to choose between remaining barricaded in safety or risking everything to rescue his injured brother outside the quarantine zone.

The game takes place in the beginning stages of a global pandemic where the edges of collapse are near. The main character, Dan, has been held up in his apartment since the early stages of a quarantine order mandated by the authorities. Clues around the apartment tells the story of a struggle. Desperate to keep the living dead out, and the living inside the survivors have barricaded themselves in fear of the dead roaming the streets.

In contact with his brother, Dan learns that he has tried to escape the city and in the process crashed his car. Dan now faces the hardest decision of his life, to stay in the apartment and try to survive, or escape the corridors of hell and try to rescue his brother.

The story is delivered through:

  • Environmental storytelling

  • Voice messages and audio logs

  • Visual clues found in apartments and hallways

  • World events unfolding during gameplay

Survival mechanics:

Survival depends on managing limited resources:

  • Food & energy levels — maintain stamina and movement efficiency

  • Weapons & ammunition — scarce and valuable

  • Batteries & light sources — required to navigate dark interiors

  • Checkpoint-based saving — progress is saved at specific safe zones

Supplies are intentionally limited to reinforce tension and decision-making.

Exploration-Based Gameplay (No Hand-Holding):

There is no minimap guidance or objective markers. Players must:

  • Interpret the environment to find safe routes

  • Listen for enemy movement and audio cues

  • Discover alternate paths such as blocked stairwells, broken elevators, and emergency passages

  • Decide when to move fast and when to stay hidden

Every playthrough encourages careful observation and situational awareness.

Combat and Threats

Players will encounter infected zombie enemies throughout the building.

Gameplay emphasizes:

  • Risk-versus-reward combat

  • Limited ammunition

  • Strategic movement and positioning

  • Avoidance when possible

Survival depends on smart choices, not constant fighting.

Atmospheric Level Design

The apartment complex is designed as a connected survival space featuring:

  • Multiple floors and interior locations

  • Dynamic lighting and dark environments

  • Environmental hazards

  • Collapsed areas and blocked routes

  • Safe zones and high-risk corridors

Each area tells part of the story through its layout and visual details.
