The Epic of Gilgamesh
The oldest known written story in human history. The adventures of the hero king Gilgamesh, who lived thousands of years ago, were passed down from mouth to mouth for centuries and were eventually carved onto clay tablets in cuneiform script. Due to the cracks and missing parts of these tablets unearthed from excavations, many sections of the text are lost — this game fills those gaps with imagination. The birth of Gilgamesh, which was not found on the tablets but was written as an Akkadian poem, has also been added to the story.
Story A prophecy, a princess locked in a tower, a dark night... Born as the grandson of Uruk King Enmerkar, the baby is left to die. But an eagle catches him in the air and places him under palm trees. The gardener and his wife who find him name the baby Gilgamesh — "the one who sees and knows everything." Growing up in a small garden in Eridu, Gilgamesh lives without knowing who he is. Until one day he learns the truth and leaves home... On this journey, moving city by city, sage by sage, Gilgamesh grows, becomes stronger, and finds his destiny.
