CubeOut is a physics-based multiplayer party game available on PC in Early Access. Players control cubes in fast-paced matches that emphasize bumping into others, dashing across arenas, and avoiding hazards to stay in play. The core loop revolves around movement and collisions as primary tools for success, with simple controls that suit casual sessions while allowing room for precise timing in competitive play.
Gameplay
The experience centers on physics interactions where every bump and dash carries weight. Cubes move with momentum that players must manage to knock opponents off platforms or steer clear of traps. Matches unfold quickly, rewarding quick reactions and spatial awareness over complex strategies. Early Access status means the foundation focuses on these core mechanics, with ongoing refinements based on player feedback during testing periods.
Control feels responsive for both keyboard and mouse or controller setups, letting users execute dashes to close distances or escape edges. Traps and environmental hazards add tension, forcing constant adjustments to positioning. The casual side emerges in short rounds that encourage repeated play without long commitments, while action elements shine in direct confrontations between multiple participants.
Game Modes
Three modes define the current Early Access lineup. Last Cube Standing places participants on a platform that gradually disintegrates. The objective requires bumping rivals off the edges until only one cube remains. This battle format highlights aggressive positioning and timing to disrupt others while maintaining balance.
Infection introduces a survival twist with an initial infected player. Contact spreads the condition, turning hit cubes to the opposing side. Survivors aim to outlast the spread, while the infected group works to convert everyone. The mode creates shifting alliances and chases across the arena.
Parkour and Race shifts focus to obstacle courses. Players time jumps and manage speed to navigate ramps, gaps, and barriers toward the finish line. Precision and momentum control determine winners in these competitive runs.
Planned Updates
Developers have outlined several additions ahead of full release. The Bonding System will allow cubes to attach and form larger structures such as walls or rolling blocks for new tactical options. A Map Maker tool is scheduled to let players design custom arenas complete with ramps and traps for personal matches.
FoosCube draws inspiration from foosball, pitting teams against each other with spinning mechanics on one side and direct cube control on the other. Additional party modes in development include Capture the Flag, Color Painting, Football, and Puzzle Maps. Custom Cubes will expand personalization through unlockable colors, materials, and stickers applied to all six sides.
Is It Worth Playing?
CubeOut suits players seeking quick, physics-driven multiplayer action in a casual package. The Early Access modes deliver varied experiences from battle royales to infection chases and racing challenges, all built around bumping and movement. Those who enjoy party games with simple yet engaging mechanics will find value in the current build, especially when joining to influence upcoming features like bonding and custom maps. Availability on PC keeps the focus on accessible sessions with friends or online groups.
