About Bullet Factory

Bullet Factory - about the game

Bullet Factory is a single-player strategy and simulation game that blends factory automation with tower defense mechanics on PC. Players inherit an aging bullet production facility from Granny Odette and must convert scrap into increasingly complex ammunition to fend off waves of hostile scrap creatures known as Rusties.

Gameplay

The core loop revolves around designing bullet production lines module by module. Basic presses create simple projectiles that travel along belts to turrets. Adding modules such as accelerators, fire infusers, explosive warheads, seeker heads, or prisms alters each bullet's properties, appearance, and rarity. More elaborate combinations produce rare, epic, or legendary bullets with unique names, though each booster pass reduces impact damage by half.

Factory management extends beyond bullet crafting. Players route power cables from plants to machines, risking blackouts from overloads. Water pipes feed boilers, drive turbines, and prevent overheating in larger equipment. Land expansion happens plot by plot to the west as buildings grow in size. Five progressive sectors shift the technology base from planks and nails through steam, electricity, and chemistry into advanced future systems, each introducing new visual styles and logistical puzzles.

Defense occurs in distinct phases. During work phases, players construct, repair, and dispatch drones to gather scrap from explored areas. Defense phases bring Rusties that vary in behavior: some rush forward, others carry shields, split on death, or heal allies. Ranged threats like spitters and gunners stay beyond short-range reach, while elites and modified waves introduce elemental effects such as burns, frost, poison, and electricity. Players can manually strike enemies as a last resort, with upgrades improving that option.

Game Modes

Bullet Factory structures its experience around alternating work and defense phases within a linear campaign across five sectors. Each sector concludes with a distinct boss encounter, including the Armored Crusher, Swarm Chief, Mirror Automaton that reflects shots, Unstable Boiler, and the Giant Industrial Inspector. No separate multiplayer or endless modes appear in the design.

Progression ties directly to these phases. Blueprints recovered during play unlock over fifty buildings in a research tree, covering eleven turrets, nineteen modules, improved belts, power plants, and reactors. Medals from Granny Odette feed an upgrade tree, while optional contracts provide self-imposed challenges for players seeking added constraints.

Progression and Features

Granny Odette remains a constant radio presence, delivering timely explanations and commentary with a mix of humor and directness that replaces lengthy tutorials. The system encourages experimentation with bullet recipes, as the optimal balance between specialized high-value projectiles and volume of basic ones shifts sector to sector.

Resource and space constraints add depth. Larger structures occupy multiple tiles, forcing careful layout planning alongside power and fluid distribution. Drone collection and manual repairs keep the factory operational between waves, while enemy variety demands adaptive turret and module choices.

Is It Worth Playing?

Bullet Factory targets players who enjoy detailed factory-building systems paired with defensive strategy. Its single-player campaign emphasizes iterative design of ammunition lines, infrastructure management, and wave survival across a structured set of sectors and bosses. With no user reviews available ahead of its November 18, 2026 release, the experience stands on the strength of its described mechanics for those drawn to indie strategy and simulation titles that reward careful planning over rapid reflexes.
