Battle Poet - about the game

Demons invade from the north, overwhelming your village with blades proving useless against them. As Yutai, an acolyte of the Holy Men, you journey to the Holy Mountain to wield poetry as the ultimate weapon. In this free-to-play strategy roguelike on PC, mix and match poetry lines to craft verses with unique effects that vanquish foes. Each run to the summit unfolds differently, with shifting enemies, available poetry lines, and characters from the world of Idaris. Cleanse corrupted holy places from the Yokani demons along the way. Roguelike fans who relish strategic poem-building and replayable challenges will find their match here.

You are Yutai, an acolyte of the Holy Men. When monsters descend on your village and the blades of warriors are found useless against them, the responsibility falls on you to go to the Holy Mountain and defeat them using the only weapon they fear; poetry.
