About SOULLOOP

SOULLOOP - about the game

SOULLOOP is a steampunk roguelite FPS deckbuilder set in a dying machine world. Players descend through procedurally generated floors while drafting cards that alter weapon behavior and fusing combinations into powerful builds. Death banks souls for future runs, turning each failure into resources for the next attempt. The game emphasizes experimentation with card families, weapon mechanics, and rule alterations in a single-player experience on PC.

Gameplay

The core loop centers on drafting from 42 card families spread across seven Selves. These include MUNITIONS, PRECISION, REACTION, CATACLYSM, FLESH, GUILE, and QUICKSILVER. Each family branches into two evolutionary paths, and players can fuse Selves in pairs to create hybrid setups. Thirty rule cards modify run conditions, while more than seventy relics add stacking effects that lead to unusual synergies.

Combat revolves around ten distinct weapons, each featuring a signature mechanic. Players access thirty-one right-click Vent abilities, with some limited to specific forge or redline states. An ABSOLVE finisher provides a powerful close to encounters, and a throwable hammer serves as a backup option. Inscriptions number twenty-seven, and the Tempering House allows reworking of draws into stronger options.

Progression ties into the Soul Forge, a network of more than one hundred thirty nodes across eight signs. Souls collected from deaths fund upgrades here, making each run contribute to long-term power. The environment spans eighteen floors divided into six acts, featuring over thirty enemy types along with six minibosses and six phased bosses that require attention to telegraphs and weaknesses.

Game Modes

The primary experience follows a roguelite descent structure. Players navigate floors, manage card drafts, and adapt builds until death resets the run while preserving banked souls. This creates repeated cycles focused on refinement and discovery.

A Daily Trial mode offers a fixed seed for each session. Every participant faces identical conditions, allowing direct comparison of performance and strategies across the community without variation in generation.

Progression Systems

Build crafting extends beyond basic card selection through fusion mechanics and relic interactions. The Tempering House and inscription system add layers for refining mediocre draws into viable tools. Rule cards introduce run-wide changes that force adaptation mid-descent.

Weapon variety supports different play preferences, from precision-focused options to those emphasizing area effects or rapid fire. Vent abilities expand tactical choices during fights, and the overall design rewards learning enemy patterns across the six acts.

Is It Worth Playing?

SOULLOOP suits players who enjoy roguelite progression combined with deckbuilding and first-person shooting. The Early Access phase means the title remains at its lowest price point, with player input directly influencing future balance, onboarding, and content additions. Systems such as the Soul Forge and Daily Trial provide clear goals for repeated play, while the hand-crafted mechanics ensure consistent depth even as art and audio incorporate AI assistance under developer oversight.

Those drawn to steampunk settings and experimental builds will find substantial replay value in fusing Selves and testing weapon variants. The absence of generated content during play keeps the focus on deliberate design choices. Early Access buyers gain access to an evolving title where feedback shapes the final form.
