Practically everything: the reference price, regional pricing, the discount calendar and whether the game reaches key sellers at all. That is why one publisher's titles behave similarly on price even when entirely different studios built them. If you notice that BOV games come down by a regular amount, that pattern will most often hold for the next title too.

There is no single rule that covers every publisher, but on a specific title you can see it straight away. If a game has already returned to a similar low several times, the next cut rarely goes much below that level. Standard, deluxe and anniversary editions are three different products, and so are versions for different platforms, because a key for one will not work on another. Bundles collecting several games from one publisher add more entries. So when comparing, check you are looking at the same edition, because the cheapest row is often the version without the add-ons.
