The year is 1973. Little Tommy teases his sister, Maisie, claiming she has a disease he heard from school--a well-known disease called the cooties. However, Maisie, a few years older, is well aware of this false disease, having already been teased during her time in the same grade. Exhausted by the childish game, she chases Tommy through the house and pushes him against a wall, creating a small crack between the wooden boards. After Tommy runs to their mother, Maisie notices the small hole, but even stranger, a hidden room beyond it.
Peering inside, she sees a small box with a tunable handle. "A music box?" As Maisie forms the thought, her eyes spot strange markings along the walls. At first, she assumes they're letters.
Maisie inches her face closer.
She squints, as the dim light makes it hard to see.
She inches closer. Closer. And closer.
It became clear to her. Those 'letters' aren't letters at all but unfamiliar symbols. That's when she felt a sudden grip that squeezed tightly on her shoulder. Before she could react, she's yanked around.

About the Developer
Hello! Unlike most horror fans, I didn't get into the genre until the late 2000s. As such, the movies that shaped my joy for the eerie and unsettling were supernatural hauntings like The Conjuring, Insidious, Paranormal Activity, etc. In return, I've decided to create this horror game as an homage to the boom of paranormal horror. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this game, and if you're interested in learning more about its design choices and development, consider purchasing the Developer's Journal :)
