About Rough Souls: Adventures

Rough Souls: Adventures - about the game

Adventure Mode – Explore, Interact, Progress

In Adventure Mode, you freely roam a handcrafted world filled with interactive elements and hidden areas. You can:

  • Pick up, throw, and eat items

  • Jump and climb across the environment

  • Tame and ride animals like the Saiga Antelope

  • Navigate ships and reach new locations

  • Talk to NPCs to receive quests

Key locations include:

  • A quest-giving NPC near the start

  • A parkour section with falling barrels

  • A port area where you can buy your own ship after earning gold

  • A mini-challenge zone with taming and exploration opportunities

Souls Mode – One Boss, Classic Challenge

There is one Souls-style boss encounter in the game, accessible early on via a quest from an NPC. This mode features:

  • A single, challenging boss

  • Emphasis on dodging, learning patterns, and punishing mistakes

  • A standalone experience inspired by soulslike mechanics

⚔️ Rough Mode – Precision Combat Arena

Accessible from the port area, Rough Mode is a directional 1v1 combat arena where you fight powerful mini-bosses using a custom mouse-driven parry and attack system.

  • Change attack and parry direction with your mouse

  • Fight enemies with unique abilities

  • Earn gold by defeating Rough bosses

  • Buy your ship after winning and collecting enough gold

Final Act – Sail, Survive, Escape

After purchasing your ship, you’ll sail into an ice basin, where you’re attacked by three marine monsters: a giant snake, kraken, and anglerfish. You must:

  • Collect explosives

  • Survive multi-enemy encounters

  • Escape the frozen trap

This leads to a descent into a glowing underground crystal city, where you face five additional Rough bosses. Once they’re defeated, a dragon captures you, marking the end of the game (until future updates).
