The Killer sees where you are talking, so you need to talk as little as possible.
Magic
Grandma will find various sophisticated magical ways to kill you.
Items
Pick up keys, bits, open locked doors and destroy the killer while there is a chance.
The goal of the Survivors in each game is to try not to get caught by the Killer and escape from the scene of the murders - it sounds easier than it really is.
