About ProtoDungeon: Episode II

ProtoDungeon: Episode II - about the game
Trapped in nightmares, players navigate a top-down exploration adventure through a strange graveyard and catacombs toward a familiar chapel. The core challenge involves collecting fragments of the chapel seal to unlock the exit, using a starlight ring that creates blocks for puzzle-solving. Without maps, compasses, or quest logs, discovery relies on keen observation and self-directed progress. Ring upgrades expand exploration into deeper areas, while interactions with a gravekeeper and a hidden challenge room add layers to the indie action. This short episode, inspired by Game Boy titles and point-and-click design, suits fans of puzzle-heavy adventures that demand note-taking and patient experimentation. Most complete it in one to two hours on PC.

ProtoDungeon: Episode II is a short, top-down exploration adventure game set in a strange graveyard. Explore, solve puzzles, and find your way out!

Still trapped in your nightmares, you must find your way through the graveyard and catacombs to the strangely familiar chapel. Seek the fragments of the chapel seal to unlock it. Use the block-creating ability of the starlight ring to solve puzzles and explore the deepest places.

Is this all real, or is it in your mind?

Can you reunite the fragments of the chapel seal and make it once again into the oddly familiar chapel?

Will you escape this time?

You have no map, no compass, no quest log. The game won't tell you what your next step is. It's up to you to find your way out! ProtoDungeon takes familiar retro inspiration from Game Boy games, but also from old point-and-click adventures in its philosophy of design. Look around, explore, even take notes!
