Fellmark is an action RPG survival game set in a fully destructible voxel world where players dig, build, craft, and explore across multiple biomes on PC. Released in Early Access, it combines resource gathering, combat, and construction in a persistent environment that supports both solo play and online multiplayer.
Gameplay
The core loop centers on excavation and resource management. Every meter of terrain can be dug, down to bedrock roughly two kilometers below the surface, where a lava sea awaits. Players tunnel through sand that can collapse, breach seabeds that flood tunnels, or undermine unsupported roofs that cave in. Ore veins yield better metals at greater depths, which are then smelted and forged into tools, weapons, and armor using thirteen base metals plus seven alloys. Gems can be socketed for enhancements, and gear requires ongoing repairs.
Building begins with foundations and uses ten structural sets ranging from basic log and stone to advanced titanium and adamantium. Components snap together but demand proper support to avoid collapse, and structures remain vulnerable to fire. The world features distinct towns and cities with markets, forges, taverns, and castles inhabited by NPCs that follow daily routines. Coastal Viking villages offer longships for capture, while twenty wildlife species, bandit camps, raiders, and boss-filled dungeons provide encounters. Travel options include horses, wind-dependent sailing boats, and aether-balloon airships.
Survival elements require managing food, water, temperature across snow and desert zones, and light sources in pitch-black caves. Players can hire villagers for roles such as mining, woodcutting, hunting, smithing, and guarding. Late-game progression introduces generators, solar collectors, and steam turbines to power automated factories with ore extractors, conveyors, smelters, assemblers, storage systems, and rail freight between bases.
Game Modes
Fellmark supports online co-op through guilds and parties with text chat and proximity voice communication. It also offers a complete single-player offline mode. No additional named modes or seasonal events appear in available details.
World and Progression
The environment reacts dynamically to player actions, from terrain physics during digging to NPC schedules in settlements. Progression moves from basic survival and manual crafting toward industrial automation, with deeper mining unlocking superior materials and stronger gear. Modding support through server and client Lua scripting allows community extensions.
Is It Worth Playing?
Fellmark suits players who enjoy hands-on survival crafting, large-scale building, and resource automation in a destructible world. The Early Access state means core systems like digging physics, forging across multiple metals, and co-op functionality are present, while further refinements may arrive through updates. Those drawn to voxel-based exploration and base-building will find substantial depth in the mining-to-factory loop and living NPC ecosystem. Single-player offers a self-contained experience, and multiplayer adds social coordination for larger projects. Availability is limited to PC at present.
