As you rush into a panic and dial 9-1-1, the operator begins to speak with you.
"9-1-1, what is your emergency?"
Before you can speak, the phone line cuts. Your television flickers on, illuminating your face. The Channel 8 logo appears, and the reporter starts speaking to the audience:
"A shocking story develops in Durango just off Route 550. A homicide case emerges from the rural home of the Grant family. 13-year-old Dennis Grant was found deceased with several stab wounds to the abdomen, and his head was nowhere to be seen. A blood trail leading to the basement from the living room shows that he was dragged, even having visible bruises on his ankles. His mother, Jennifer Grant's body, was also found deceased with burnt skin hanging by the roof of their front porch with a telephone wire. Dennis appeared to have tried to call the police, but the intruder cut the phone line just before he could finish giving the operator his address."
Your blood runs cold. You had thought your parents were safe upstairs, and just minutes ago, you had thought you were safe as well. You dare not look out of the peephole at the front door.
CULT OF FLIES is a puzzle horror game set in Durango, Colorado, in the 1980s. You play as a member of the Grant family, a prominent religious chain deeply rooted in the churches around the area. The oldest Grant family member, Bethany Grant, had died. Upon leaving her funeral, you experience several odd occurrences at the Grant residence, leading to a disturbing chain of events.
