About Burr Puzzle

Burr Puzzle - about the game

The Luban lock (English: Burr Puzzle), also known as Kongming lock in Chinese folklore, originates from the mortise and tenon joint structure first created in ancient Chinese architecture. It is a traditional Chinese intellectual toy, said to be invented by the carpenter Lu Ban during the Spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period, hence its name. The shapes and internal structures vary, but they are generally easy to disassemble and difficult to reassemble. The Kongming lock consists of six rectangular wooden rods with grooves inside, interlocked in a mortise-and-tenon framework arranged in three directions, with two rods fitting together in each direction.

This game fully utilizes modern computer technology to perfectly recreate the essence of ancient Chinese mortise and tenon structures, allowing players to experience the wisdom of the ancients from a brand new perspective.
