A dungeon crawler creature collector RPG, sequel to the first Anode Heart game, set 300 years into the future, in a strange post-cataclysmic world. Sentient survivors now live outside of the virtual world established in the first game, on the surface called the Real Plane.
[ ! ] This game can be played without any knowledge of previous AH installments, but it is recommended to play the first game before this one.
You play as Code, a new member of the Pacifiers, trained sentients whose missions take place in the remnants of the Old Systems. As a Pacifier, you'll be given a virtual companion creature known as Tama to fight alongside you. On your journey, you'll be able to befriend and tame many such creatures. You'll use their powers to descend deep down into the dungeons of the systems and to uncover their mysteries.

My first concept for Anode Heart, back in early 2020, was actually a top-down shooter where you play as a "pacifier" who needs to descend down into the virtual systems, pacify bugged out creatures and rescue system-stuck sentients. I soon realized that a monster tamer game is something I'd enjoy playing and making a lot more, but the lore and the gritty setting of that first concept remained in the back of my mind.
I've wanted to do something with these ideas for a long time now, so I hope to bring this world into existence now, as part of the world of AH:2. See you all in the Sequel!
