About Steel Division 2 - Battle of Dukla Pass

Steel Division 2 - Battle of Dukla Pass - about the game

Experience one of the bloodiest battles in late World War II with Steel Division 2: Battle of Dukla Pass. Centered on the ill-fated attempts by the Red Army to reach the Slovak National Uprising beyond the Carpathians in September 1944, the major expansion contains six new divisions and a massive new Army General campaign, historically authentic and recreating in detail this gruelling episode of combat.

Steel Division 2: Battle of Dukla Pass brings one Army General campaign and 6 new divisions, and a rage of new infantry and units, from Czechoslovakian Parašutisté squads, Soviet Gornostrelki mountain infantry, LT Vz.35 light tanks, insurgent Slovak Army soldiers, PA Vz.30 armored cars, and French SS units.
MAIN FEATURES:
  • A massive new Army General campaign focused on the gruelling Battle of Dukla Pass. As the Red Army’s 1-y Ukrainskiy Front, breach the prepared defenses of the 17. Armee's XI. SS-Korps and 1. Panzerarmee's XXIV. Panzerkorps. Time is of the essence for both sides. Axis reinforcements pour in but take time to arrive, while the beleaguered Slovak National Uprising - the Soviets desperate to reach - will not hold out indefinitely.
  • Six new divisions await your command. The Axis field the tenacious defenders of the 208. Infanterie-Division, the Hungarian mountain troops of the 13. Gyaloghadosztály, and the mixed units of the 18. SS-Fr.-Panzergrenadier "Horst Wessel". The Allies go to war with Soviet-controlled Czechoslovakian 1. Československý Armádní Sbor, the rare mountain infantry of the 242-ya Gornostrelkovaya, and the insurgent Slovak National Uprising.
  • Dozens of new units are available, partly representing the historically renowned armaments industry of World War II-era Czechoslovakia. These include Czechoslovakian early war equipment and infantry weapons, long-range Ampulomet flamethrowers, jeep-mounted BM-8-8 82mm multiple-rocket launcher, PA Vz.30 recon armored cars, LT Vz.35 light tanks, Poľný Kanón vz.30 80mm, and Hrubá Húfnica vz.25 150mm artillery pieces, the Fw-190 F-8 “Panzer-Büchsenrohr” with its 8x wing-mounted Panzerschreck, Slovak paramilitary Hlinka Guard, Hegyi.Árkászok mountain troops, and unarmed He-72D biplanes, amongst others.
