About Button Down: Lost & Found Pack

Button Down: Lost & Found Pack - about the game

Button Down is a single-player action roguelite set inside a desk drawer, where players control a lost button that survives waves of dust, crumbs, and office debris using orbiting office supplies as weapons.

Gameplay

The core loop centers on positioning and build choices during fixed-length runs. The button stays in place while paperclips, thumbtacks, coins, and button batteries circle or strike outward. Players decide movement to avoid incoming threats and collect upgrades that evolve weapons over time. Each run limits loadouts to six weapons and four support items, after which new options stop appearing. Difficulty scales across stages with increasing enemy density and speed, and every chapter ends only when its boss is defeated rather than on a timer.

Base chapters last 14 to 22 minutes before the boss appears. The Lost and Found Pack extends this structure with two new chapters that reach their bosses at the 36-minute mark. These runs rebuild the difficulty curve in distinct bands: easy for the first 10 minutes, average to 20, hard to 30, then a steady climb. Elite encounters are retimed to 5, 11, and 20 minutes to match the longer format. Two new boss abilities appear here. Plow telegraphs for 0.7 seconds before charging in a locked direction and shoving everything aside. Spill releases five props per burst that land and block space, gradually tightening the playable area. Familiar attacks such as Scatter and Sweep behave differently, with Scatter jumping toward the player before bursting and Sweep pushing twice in succession.

Game Modes

Button Down offers chapter runs and an endless challenge. Each chapter is a repeatable, fixed encounter that always features the same boss and layout, so success depends entirely on player skill and build. The endless mode uses a fixed seed so every participant faces identical enemy placements and boss rotations. The Lost and Found Pack adds an expanded endless variant with six bosses cycling in rotation and a separate leaderboard that does not affect base-game records. Two new chapters themed around a Sewing Box and a Backpack introduce 18 additional enemies, including ten standard types, six elites, and two final bosses, plus four new achievements.

New Content in the Lost and Found Pack

The pack supplies two 40-minute chapters built around distinct item sets. The Sewing Box chapter features Thread Snip, Snap Fastener, Basting Pin, Thimble, and Floss Tangle, closing with Pinking Shears. The Backpack chapter includes Lunch Crumb, Textbook Corner, Earbud Cord, Umbrella Drip, and Name Tag Pin, ending with the Backpack Zipper. These additions integrate directly into the base game after the required 1.1.0 update and cannot be accessed without owning the original title. The pack itself is free to claim but must be added to the library manually.

Is It Worth Playing?

Button Down suits players who enjoy short, repeatable roguelite runs focused on positioning and incremental build decisions rather than open exploration or story. The fixed chapter structure and skill-based endings reward repeated attempts on the same content. The Lost and Found Pack extends that experience with longer, more demanding runs and fresh enemy and boss patterns while preserving the original leaderboards. Because the base game launched recently with no accumulated player reviews yet available, the decision rests on whether the core survival loop and office-supply combat appeal. Those who prefer concise, mastery-driven sessions in the survivor-like genre will find the added chapters and expanded endless mode a direct extension of the existing systems.
