New feature: outpost ownership and base building
The Home & Harbor Expansion will enable you to assume control of your very own deep-sea outpost – or conquer existing ones by force!Expand your outpost by adding new modules. Manage your NPC inhabitants and build workshops to establish an industry. Improve your base of operations and gain access to new technologies via a dedicated research and unlock tree.
Express yourself, Barotrauma-style! Plenty of customization options will allow you to make that outpost your own. Will your outpost be an inviting and optimized habitat, or a run-down and shoddy dwelling?
New faction: The Descendants
A new, mysterious faction will enter the scene. The technocratic, body-modified “Descendants” utilize alien technology and add a new layer of intrigue to the Barotrauma universe. With them, a range of new items, doodads and curiosities will be added.More faction interaction, more story
Home & Harbor will add more depth to Barotrauma’s faction system. Roaming submarines will directly contribute to NPC outpost economy. Trade with allies, duke it out with enemies – maybe send them over a friendly gift (not Husk infected of course). At the same time, the world of Barotrauma will become more alive: NPC factions will also interact with each other, trade, gain or lose ground, outside of player actions.A new chapter in the story of Barotrauma will be written.
