September's Game Pass lineup hasn't been announced yet, and four games are already locked in with firm dates. All four are set for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, and one of them is the console debut a lot of people have been waiting on since last summer.
Dune: Awakening finally makes the jump
Dune: Awakening hits Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 on September 22, and it drops into the subscription the same day. The survival game set on Arrakis launched on PC back in June 2025, so console players have been stuck watching from the sidelines for over a year.
Funcom isn't treating this as a straight port either. The console launch brings a proper single player mode where you can finish the entire story on your own with an adjustable difficulty setting, which is a big pivot for a game that started life leaning hard on other people being in your sandbox. Player versus player is still there, it's just optional now. Two graphics modes, shared progress and cross play between console, PC and cloud round it out. This is the one I'm actually curious about.

Minecraft Dungeons II arrives day one
September 29 brings Minecraft Dungeons II, and it joins the catalogue the same day it goes on sale everywhere else. Blocky dungeon crawling for up to four players again, this time with two worlds to bounce between instead of one. It's also launching on PC, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2, but the subscription route is the one that lets you poke at it without committing.
The first week belongs to the smaller stuff
On September 2, Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault leaves early access and goes 1.0. Same shop by day, dungeon by night hook as the original, except everything is in 3D now. Physical copies are trailing behind until November 13.
A day later, SpeedRunners 2: King of Speed shows up. Eight racers online at once, a grappling hook, maps built around shortcuts, and the same job as always: shove everyone else off the screen. Ten years after the first one, and it's in the subscription from launch day.
The list isn't done
Microsoft usually reveals wave one in the opening days of the month, so four is nowhere near the final count. August landed roughly a dozen titles, including PowerWash Simulator 2 and early access to the Gears of War: E-Day beta.
