About XenoVector

XenoVector - about the game

XenoVector is a top-down bullet-hell roguelike action game developed for PC. Players pilot one of three distinct ships through an endless procedural universe filled with escalating threats, collecting relics to build powerful weapon loadouts while surviving against waves of enemies and massive bosses.

Gameplay

The core loop centers on free-roaming survival across twelve distinct terrain ecologies that grow more hazardous the longer a run continues. Players select from the resilient Aegis hull, the high-speed Interceptor, or the weapon-focused Striker, each carrying unique stats and a kill-charged ultimate ability. Five weapon systems start at basic levels and can be upgraded through ten tiers, unlocking stronger effects and a charged secondary attack for each armament. Combat emphasizes positioning, timing, and buildcrafting as players destroy enemy formations, complete mission signals, and harvest relics that permanently enhance weapons or shields during the current run.

Hostile encounters include thirty-five enemy types with elite variants and late-run threats. Boss fights draw from procedural combinations of chassis, movement patterns, weapons, cores, and attack styles. Beyond standard encounters lie six families of multipart Apex Colossi, featuring Fortresses, Serpents, Lattices, Motherships, Black Holes, and Prismatic Crystals. Each Colossus presents destructible components, unique mechanics, and multiple escalating phases that demand adaptive strategies. High-impact abilities such as brief invulnerability dashes, homing missiles, proximity bombs, and ship-specific ultimates provide tools to manage dense bullet patterns and overwhelming formations.

Game Modes

XenoVector operates as a single endless survival experience with no fixed endpoint or final wave. Runs begin with mission signals that guide players toward objectives while enemy density and power scale continuously. Procedural generation ensures varied terrain transitions and boss compositions across every attempt, encouraging repeated play to test different ship and weapon combinations. Temporary combat boosts appear alongside permanent relic upgrades, creating layered progression that rewards both immediate tactical decisions and long-term build planning. Difficulty escalates without cap, pushing weapon tiers, enemy formations, and scoring systems beyond initial limits.

Progression and Builds

Weapon relics collected mid-run feed into evolving arsenals, while shield upgrades improve survivability against denser projectile screens. The absence of boundaries allows free exploration between encounters, letting players choose paths that balance risk and reward. Each ship archetype supports distinct playstyles, from tanky absorption on Aegis to rapid repositioning on Interceptor or focused firepower on Striker. Mastery comes from learning charged secondary attacks and timing ultimates to clear clusters or survive colossus phases.

Is It Worth Playing?

XenoVector targets players who enjoy challenging top-down bullet-hell roguelikes with deep buildcrafting and procedural variety. Its endless structure and escalating systems suit those comfortable with high difficulty and repeated runs rather than linear campaigns. The game remains in preparation for full Steam release, with core mechanics already demonstrated through development footage and tests. Fans of unbounded survival loops, customizable weapon progression, and multipart boss encounters will find the described systems align closely with established genre preferences. Those seeking structured story modes or limited-scope sessions may prefer titles with clearer endpoints.
