About Warfront: Call to Arms

Warfront: Call to Arms - about the game

Warfront: Call to Arms is an independent multiplayer first-person shooter built around classic arena combat. Players engage in fast-paced matches on compact maps with rounds that emphasize movement, positioning, and quick decision-making. The game supports up to eight participants per match and focuses on squad coordination in a competitive environment. It remains in active development as an Early Access title on PC, with features subject to change based on ongoing testing.

Gameplay

Matches revolve around tight arenas where players select from a points-based create-a-class system. Fifteen weapons span assault rifles such as the AK105 and TR15, SMGs, marksman rifles including the Mk14 EBR, a machine gun, shotguns, and pistols like the SRM-12 and McKelvie. A gunsmith allows attachment of optics, lasers, lights, grips, and muzzles, with live previews during customization. Ballistics incorporate bullet velocity and wall penetration, while limited ammunition encourages selective engagements. Players can pick up fallen weapons or matching ammo from the ground to resupply.

Perks and armor plates add layers to loadouts, alongside frag grenades and flashbangs available to every class. Scorestreaks reward kill chains and objective contributions, starting with options like the Recon UAV, Remote Rover, and Hunter Drone. Additional streaks remain in development. Operators feature a full character creator covering face, hair, gear, patches, and kit, with players aligning to either STRATCOM or VANGUARD factions. Progression includes ranking up to unlock items, completing challenges, and reaching prestige at the level cap. The Barracks records track career, mode, and weapon statistics.

Game Modes

Core modes include Team Deathmatch, Domination, Kill Confirmed, Hardpoint, Capture the Flag, Search and Destroy, and Mixed Moshpit, where the lobby votes on the rotation. Party modes offer Free for All, Gun Game, One in the Chamber with one bullet, a knife, and three lives, Survival, and a development preview of Zombies. Warfare features Frontline. Combat Training restricts play to Team Deathmatch and Search and Destroy against bots for parties only. Public matches use real players exclusively, while custom games and training allow bot opponents.

Survival pits up to eight operators against endless waves. Kills generate cash spent at the Quartermaster on weapons, attachments, armor plates, and perks during resupply phases. Each wave concludes with a payout and performance breakdown. Zombies appears as an early preview on the Dead Signal map, a ruined broadcast center. Players hold the newsroom, rebuild window barriers, purchase doors and wall weapons, restore power, and collect perks. It includes separate ranking and map records but remains unfinished with expected rough edges.

Maps and Progression

Operation Sandwatch serves as a sun-bleached desert outpost with a fuel depot, warehouse interiors, and open sand lanes. Designed primarily for Search and Destroy, it offers plant sites, flanks, and long sightlines. A dusk variant replays the map under moonlight with haze and weapon lights influencing visibility. Further maps are planned, including an expanded Sandwatch 2.0 compound and additional multiplayer locations such as an Arctic Research site. Weapon camos unlock through challenges, and charms attach to guns. Black Market cases earned through play open with keys for skins that feature unique wear and patterns, plus additional charms and patches. New players receive three free keys.

Parties use Steam integration for invites and lobbies with map and mode voting. Host migration, killcams, and after-action reports follow each match. Controller support, balance adjustments, and performance optimizations continue based on playtest feedback.

Is It Worth Playing?

Warfront: Call to Arms suits players seeking fast arena-style multiplayer first-person shooter experiences with customizable loadouts and objective-driven modes. The mix of public matches against real opponents and bot-supported training or custom games provides flexibility for solo or group play. Survival and the Zombies preview add cooperative elements against waves. As an Early Access title in active development, the game includes planned additions like expanded Zombies maps, new scorestreaks, weapons, and operators. Features and progression may reset during testing. Those who enjoy tight maps, class building, and scorestreak systems in a small-player format will find the current build offers direct access to core loops without larger-scale complications. Reception depends on tolerance for ongoing changes and incomplete sections like the Zombies preview.
