群侠传:幸存者 is a wuxia-themed survivors-like action roguelite available on PC in Early Access. It combines horde survival mechanics with martial arts, inner cultivation, and jianghu treasures, drawing from the buildcrafting loop seen in similar titles while reimagining it through sect-based characters and martial styles.
Gameplay
Players select a character along with a sect and martial style before entering runs. Outer Arts activate automatically in the exact sequence arranged beforehand, shifting focus to positioning, dodging attacks, and collecting coins and drops across the field. Inner Arts and Lightness Arts add layers to builds, with resonance effects activating when multiple arts share the same sect or style to increase overall power.
Each run consists of 20 waves. Between waves, attributes receive training, the shop offers martial arts manuals and jianghu curios for purchase, and arts can be rearranged into new slots. Arts level up during a run to deal more damage, which in turn generates more resources for further upgrades and creates a snowball effect that strengthens the build over time. The current version includes 78 martial arts, split into 57 Outer Arts in Fist & Palm and Sword styles, 16 Inner Arts that support 8 to 10 distinct build paths, and 5 Lightness Arts, alongside more than 200 jianghu items and 50 enemy types from 7 factions.
Game Modes
The core experience revolves around wave-based survival runs that emphasize incremental build progression and resource management. Runs follow a fixed structure of 20 waves with shop and upgrade phases in between, allowing repeated attempts to refine art combinations and resonance setups. No additional named modes appear in the current release, keeping the focus on mastering the singleplayer loop through repeated runs and attribute training.
Development and Current State
The game remains in active development with plans for additional martial styles and content in future updates. A single developer handled design, balancing, and extensive playtesting, while AI tools assisted with code, art, animation, music, and voice work. The title launched into Early Access on PC, making the existing roster of arts, items, and enemies available for immediate play while updates continue.
Is It Worth Playing?
The game suits players who enjoy survivors-like roguelites centered on auto-attacking systems paired with manual positioning and build experimentation. Its wuxia setting provides a distinct flavor through sect resonances and martial art progression that rewards careful arrangement and resource snowballing. With transparent development notes and ongoing updates promised, it offers a focused experience for those interested in the genre's core loop applied to a martial arts theme. Those seeking extensive multiplayer features or fully polished releases may prefer to wait for further updates, while fans of similar titles can explore the current wave structure and art system right away.
