About Ozersk Protocol

Ozersk Protocol - about the game

Ozersk Protocol is an action, free to play, indie, RPG, and massively multiplayer extraction survival FPS set on PC. Players take on the role of private contractors entering a quarantined exclusion zone around the evacuated city of Ozersk to recover artifacts, equipment, and intelligence through repeated expeditions.

Gameplay

The core loop centers on deploying into a persistent open world exclusion zone that stretches from southern supply areas northward into increasingly hazardous territory. Expeditions start in the south where basic gear and resources are more accessible, then players choose routes through abandoned settlements, military positions, industrial zones, hidden bunkers, and wilderness. Progress north brings better loot but also stronger enemies and longer extraction distances.

Everything recovered must be carried out on foot. Death results in permanent loss of carried items. The world supports continued play across sessions, allowing a player to exit at any safe point and resume from the same location later. Base building uses extracted resources to construct and upgrade stations for crafting, storage, and preparation of future runs. This foundation improves capabilities over time and supports deeper pushes into the zone.

Character customization covers hairstyles, skin tones, tattoos, face paint, clothing, and individual gear pieces, with options to add patches and manage armor plates manually. Weapon handling includes realistic ballistics, reloading, overheating, wear, and malfunctions. An advanced gunsmith system lets players assemble firearms piece by piece, position attachments on rails, and apply custom paint schemes to individual parts.

Survival involves managing detailed RPG-style conditions such as hydration, energy, blood loss, fractures, bruising, intoxication, exhaustion, and tremors. Movement uses full stance and speed control, leaning, prone transitions, vaulting, climbing, tactical slides, and ropes for vertical access. Training manuals found in the world unlock new abilities and skill improvements.

Game Modes

The game operates as a single persistent open world rather than separate match-based modes. All activity occurs within the same exclusion zone where players can explore, fight, loot, trade, and cooperate on expeditions. Private contractors work individually or together to secure objectives and extract valuables before returning to personal bases.

Progression ties directly to repeated runs that build resources and upgrades. There are no distinct competitive or limited-time modes described. The focus remains on long-term survival and advancement through the shared world, with risk scaling based on how far north a player travels during any given expedition.

World and Progression

The zone itself forms the central feature. Southern areas provide safer starting ground with supplies for initial expeditions. Moving north increases both rewards and threats, including better-equipped hostile forces and more dangerous entities. Players decide their depth of penetration based on current gear, objectives, and risk tolerance.

Successful extractions feed the base of operations, enabling better preparation for subsequent runs. Failures require rebuilding from remaining resources. This loop encourages careful route planning, inventory management, and timing of returns to extraction points.

Is It Worth Playing?

Ozersk Protocol targets players who enjoy extraction survival gameplay combined with realistic weapon customization, detailed health management, and persistent world progression in a free to play format. The game remains in active development by a small indie team that rebuilt an earlier project, with plans to incorporate player feedback into future updates.

Those who owned the prior Project L33T title retain their purchases and benefits upon release. The absence of confirmed player reviews or release metrics means decisions rest on interest in the described systems of open-world expeditions, base building, and gunsmithing. It suits dedicated fans of hardcore survival mechanics who prefer ongoing personal progression over short sessions.
