About Neuroflip

Neuroflip - about the game

Neuroflip is a single-player card-based memory roguelike developed for PC. Players flip cards to remember and match pairs across three acts while building a hand of skills to overcome increasingly complex stages and defeat the final court.

Gameplay

The core loop centers on a grid of face-down cards. Flipping an unseen card carries no penalty, but failing to recall a previously viewed pair deducts a life. Stages impose a time limit, requiring players to track positions, chain matches for score multipliers up to five times, and time skill activations to clear the board efficiently. Card rarities range from Iron to Emerald, with higher tiers awarding extra points and coins for progression.

Special cards appear within the grid and introduce variety. These include bombs with lit fuses that demand quick handling, ghosts that alter visibility, jokers that provide wildcard effects, chests that dispense coins, and shooting stars that trigger additional reveals. After each battle, players select one of three skill options to add to their hand. Elites and bosses award permanent passives that reshape subsequent runs, while merchants allow coin spending and rerolls to pursue powerful combinations among the nine available drag-and-drop skills and twelve passives.

Game Modes

Neuroflip structures its content around a single-player campaign divided into three acts. Each act mixes standard battles, elite encounters, treasure rooms, and merchant visits before culminating in boss fights against the Scribe, the Lady, and the King. The Scribe shuffles cards mid-stage, the Lady conceals faces behind a veil, and the King requires three separate defeats to overcome.

Four elite types modify stage rules along the way: the Liar introduces deception, the Clockmaker alters timing, Minefield adds hidden hazards, and Trio restricts pairings. Five challenge levels become available after each successful run, providing additional tests of memory and strategy. A collection system tracks unlocks, personal records, and leaderboard entries for competitive comparison.

Progression and Deck Building

Coins earned from matches and special cards fund merchant purchases that expand options for future attempts. Passives from defeated elites and bosses persist across an entire run, encouraging experimentation with skill synergies that can dramatically alter how grids are cleared. The roguelike structure means each attempt starts fresh, yet accumulated unlocks in the collection gradually expand available choices and challenge options.

Card rarities directly influence scoring and economy, rewarding precise memory work with stronger resources for merchant rerolls. This system supports repeated playthroughs as players refine combinations of the nine skills and twelve passives to handle the shifting rules introduced by elites and bosses.

Is It Worth Playing?

Neuroflip targets players who enjoy memory mechanics blended with roguelike progression and light strategy. The fair penalty system, which only punishes forgotten pairs rather than initial flips, keeps runs accessible while the time pressure and elite modifiers maintain tension. With its focus on single-player runs, deck customization through skills and passives, and post-victory challenge levels, the game suits those seeking short, repeatable sessions that reward observation and planning over fast reflexes.

Since the title remains in a pre-release state with no public player data available, its appeal rests on the described systems of grid management, combo scoring, and rule-altering encounters. Fans of casual strategy titles that emphasize pattern recognition and incremental build crafting may find the structure engaging for repeated attempts at topping personal records.
