LETS GO HUNTING is a cheerful co-op hunting game available on PC in Early Access. Players take on the role of hunters who explore a large archipelago filled with varied terrain while tracking and harvesting strange hybrid creatures using a selection of firearms and tools. The experience blends action, adventure, and casual elements as individuals or groups of up to four work through shared objectives and build personal progress.
Gameplay
The core loop centers on hunting, transporting, and selling creatures across a massive island roughly six kilometers wide. Hunters start with basic weapons such as the karambit knife and shotgun, then expand their arsenal to include the Glock 17, Desert Eagle, M4A4, BAR, a .50 caliber sniper rifle with 5x scope, and a carrot rocket launcher. Attachments like suppressors, red dot sights, lasers, and additional scopes improve handling and effectiveness during encounters.
Over sixty unique creatures populate the world, each with distinct appearances and behaviors. Some flee on sight, others charge or bite, while certain types fly, leap, roll, dig underground, or summon allies. Biomes dictate which animals appear, ranging from rhinostriches in the red badlands to ghost deer in the haunted forest and frost wolves on the snow island. Larger beasts collapse into ragdolls upon defeat, adding physical feedback to successful shots.
After a kill, players carry smaller bodies by hand, drag heavier ones, pull them on a sled, or load them onto vehicles. Gutting the carcass with a knife triples its sell value at the camp outpost. Earnings fund upgrades at traders, including new weapons, vehicles, and boats. A workbench allows further customization of firearms for increased damage, faster reloads, and higher fire rates.
Game Modes
LETS GO HUNTING supports solo play or online co-op sessions for one to four players through Steam lobbies. Friends can join freely, and the entire party shares a quest chain where everyone receives the same rewards upon completion. Vehicles such as the UTV and pickup truck can be driven together during group outings, while boats enable travel to separate islands.
Exploration itself functions as an open activity where players discover outposts for fast travel, climb the lighthouse for a telescope view of the island, descend into mines or crystal caves to face mini-bosses, and locate monster nests. Additional activities include fishing at the swamp lake, visiting a travelling caravan for rare items, accessing a black market, or entering the tournament arena for five-wave survival challenges. Roaming swarms of creatures offer bonus opportunities when cleared.
Exploration and Environment
The archipelago features thirteen distinct biomes on the main island plus two boat-accessible islands: a fiery volcano and a frozen snow region. Weather systems change dynamically with day-night cycles, rain, thunderstorms, hurricanes, fog, sandstorms, and heat waves. Special events such as night swarms, blood moons, meteor showers, and volcano eruptions occur unpredictably and alter creature behavior or spawn rates.
Players open the map to reveal outposts and plan routes. Hidden locations reward careful searching, while environmental hazards require adaptation during hunts. The variety keeps repeated visits engaging as different biomes introduce new creature types and visual backdrops.
Progression and Customization
Success leads to camp improvements and personal upgrades. Money from sales purchases better equipment and vehicles, while workbench modifications enhance existing guns. Two giant bosses provide major challenges: the Wolpertinger King in a rock-arch arena with multiple phases involving claw attacks, slams, charges, and summoned minions, and the Frost Mammoth on a frozen lake that uses tusk strikes, stomps, ice spikes, frost wolves, and blizzards. Defeating the king unlocks lucky slot machines that award cosmetic skins for weapons and vehicles.
Character customization includes a wardrobe of outfits and color options visible to others in lobbies and the world. Dozens of skins further personalize firearms and vehicles. Steam achievements track various milestones across hunting, exploration, and co-op activities.
Is It Worth Playing?
LETS GO HUNTING suits players who enjoy relaxed co-op sessions mixed with light progression and creature collection in a colorful open setting. The shared quest system and vehicle teamwork encourage group play, while solo hunters can still access the full map and activities. Early Access status means the experience continues to evolve with potential additions to biomes, creatures, and systems.
Those drawn to hunting mechanics, ragdoll physics, and whimsical creature designs will find consistent engagement through the variety of weapons, environments, and events. The game rewards careful planning around weather and creature behaviors without requiring intense competition. Availability on PC makes it accessible for both short sessions and longer cooperative outings.
