League of Constellations is a single-player action strategy RPG that blends survivors-like progression with tactical 5v5 league matches on PC. Players raise heroes through intense runs against endless monster swarms before carrying those builds directly into competitive raids against rival teams and a massive boss.
Gameplay
The core loop starts in survivors-style runs where players mow down waves of monsters to level up a hero. Each level-up offers a choice of three Patron cards, while weapons upgrade and evolve over time. Five skill slots labeled Q, W, E, R, and Space allow direct control, and players mix six elements to form custom combos. A Twilight boss caps each run.
Builds transfer unchanged into league matches. No adjustments reduce power. In these encounters, two teams compete on a raid board focused on one giant boss. Contribution comes from damaging the boss or defeating enemy heroes, with the higher total determining the winner. Players can steer the boss toward opponents or exploit stagger windows to shift momentum.
Direct hero control sits at the center of every match. The remaining four teammates follow pre-set formation and tactic cards chosen before play begins. Starlight currency supports recruiting, loaning, or selling heroes, while a skill shop lets players purchase and equip abilities for the roster.
Game Modes
Survivors runs form the foundation for building power. Five such runs appear in the Early Access content, including two tied to the tutorial. These sessions emphasize horde survival, level-ups, card selections, weapon evolutions, and elemental combos leading to the Twilight boss encounter.
League matches deliver the 5v5 raid format against opposing teams and the shared boss. Regular season play pits a team against each of nine Constellations squads twice. The top four advance to playoffs. Additional event matches include Captain Relay, Bullet-Hell Dodgeball, and Lotto Skill Match for variety within the schedule.
Single-player focus means all activity occurs offline with keyboard and mouse controls. The Early Access build supplies one complete third-division season of 18 regular matches plus playoffs, delivering roughly five hours of content alongside the tutorial and survivors runs.
The League Structure
Progression centers on conquering the third division. Teams face nine opposing Constellations squads in a double round-robin format before playoffs decide the champion. Success here unlocks further ambitions in later divisions once development expands.
Hero management adds depth between matches. Recruitment and trading with Starlight, combined with skill purchases, let players shape their roster. Tactic and formation cards dictate how AI teammates behave, turning pre-match planning into a key strategic layer.
Is It Worth Playing?
League of Constellations targets players who enjoy merging rapid buildcrafting from survivors games with direct-control tactics in structured league competition. The single-player campaign offers a self-contained third-division season right from Early Access launch in March 2027, with planned expansions to higher divisions and additional content over roughly one year.
Those drawn to elemental combo systems, hero evolution, and raid-style boss fights against human opponents will find a focused experience here. The blend of run-based progression and carry-over league play creates repeated engagement without requiring multiplayer coordination. Early Access buyers receive the full version at no extra cost once development completes.
