About Just Trust Me

Just Trust Me - about the game

Just Trust Me is a multiplayer action, strategy, and simulation game on PC that places 4 to 9 players inside an abandoned facility for a session of role-based deception and survival. Players receive random roles at the start of each match, and the experience centers on searching the environment, managing items, and deciding whom to trust while one participant works to prevent escape.

Gameplay

The core loop involves exploring dark corridors and locked rooms to locate items that aid progression or provide temporary advantages. Participants decode briefcases to retrieve keys for the main entrance, but the process requires careful selection of what to carry and what to share. Secondary objectives scattered throughout the facility reward useful supplies such as bandages or energy drinks that restore health or boost movement speed without advancing the escape directly.

Combat options exist through improvised weapons including knuckles, wrenches, pipes, and kitchen knives. These tools allow players to attack others or defend themselves, though using them against role objectives carries consequences. Status effects add tension: bleeding drains health over time, while energy drinks grant short bursts of faster movement. Other items can temporarily enhance attributes or obscure a player's identity from others.

Every participant carries a detective journal for recording observations, conversations, and clues. The journal lists all players and lets users mark suspected roles. Accurate identifications at the end of a match provide rewards, yet majority votes can send an innocent player to prison even after the real threat has been eliminated.

Game Modes

Matches support 4 to 9 players in a single core experience built around hidden roles. One player is assigned the Killer role with the objective of eliminating others before escape becomes possible. A Helper role supports the Killer by misleading investigations, hiding items, and sowing suspicion without directly eliminating targets. The remaining players take the Innocent role and must cooperate to search, decode, and unlock the exit while identifying threats.

Roles are assigned randomly at the beginning of each session, and objectives differ sharply. The Killer focuses on preventing escape and removing survivors once the route opens. The Helper manipulates decisions and conceals evidence to increase difficulty for the group. Innocents prioritize survival through teamwork and information sharing. Non-killing players may still attack others, but doing so conflicts with their assigned goals and affects outcomes.

Investigation and Suspicion

Tracking behavior forms a central part of every match. Players note suspicious actions in their journals and compare notes during discussions. Correctly identifying the Killer or Helper earns in-match rewards, yet the system allows majority consensus to override facts. An innocent player can be removed from the facility while the actual Killer remains active or already eliminated, shifting the remaining group's focus.

Environment details support investigation. Body bags appear in some areas, and blood effects mark combat locations. These visual cues combine with item placement and player movement to create opportunities for deduction without guaranteeing success.

Characters and Customization

Each character features a distinct name, appearance, and outfit that helps players distinguish participants during fast-paced sessions. Before a match begins, the host adjusts settings through an interactive 3D lobby menu that displays available options clearly.

Cooperation remains essential even among Innocents, yet any player can turn against the group. The design emphasizes that trust must be earned through consistent actions rather than assumed from role assignments alone.

Is It Worth Playing?

Just Trust Me targets players who enjoy multiplayer sessions that blend exploration, item management, and social deduction in a horror setting. The random role system creates repeated variety within the 4 to 9 player range, and the journal mechanic adds a layer of personal record-keeping that influences group decisions. Because the game is still listed as coming soon with no released version or user reviews available, potential players should monitor official updates from the developer for launch timing and final feature confirmation. Those drawn to asymmetric objectives and environmental interaction will find the described systems align directly with that preference.
