ICE Wars is an isometric 3v3 vehicle combat game that blends action, indie, and racing elements on PC. Two opposing teams battle block by block through the streets of East L.A. for control of passengers who represent real people with names, stories, and dialogue in English, Spanish, and Arabic.
Gameplay
The core loop centers on locating passengers scattered across an active city quarter. Advocates collect these individuals and deliver them to safe houses for naturalization at the end of the match. ICE pursues the same passengers but directs them to intake sites for deportation and can actively destroy safe houses to disrupt the opposition. The team with the highest score when the timer expires claims victory. Vehicles feature auto-turrets that target nearby enemies, homing missiles for locked strikes, and ramming mechanics where heavier builds inflict greater damage and spill passengers onto the street for recapture. Power-ups scattered throughout the environment provide nitro boosts, shields, rapid fire, repairs, and ammo. The city itself reacts dynamically as passengers relocate every 45 seconds, safe houses shift under pressure, parked cars get pushed aside, and wrecks remain as burning obstacles under a neon-lit, rainy night skyline.
Game Modes
Matches support online 3v3 play with friends or bots filling empty slots until additional players join. Solo mode allows a complete match against AI opponents. Spectate mode lets observers watch bot-only matches. Live TV-news style intros and an announcer provide commentary during play. A separate career progression system offers 55 levels and 11 badges to unlock through repeated matches.
Vehicle Classes and Factions
Four vehicle classes operate on each side with distinct abilities. On the Advocates team these include Slip, Decoy, Brace, and Shove. ICE counters with Pursuit Burst, Low Profile, Brace, and Ram Line. Players can swap vehicles mid-match by returning to their garage or motor pool. Twenty regular passengers inhabit the streets, each boarding vehicles, conversing during transit, and reacting upon delivery or failure to reach safety.
Is It Worth Playing?
ICE Wars suits players who enjoy tactical vehicle combat in a compact 3v3 format with clear objectives tied to passenger delivery and disruption. The mix of driving, combat tools, and environmental interaction creates focused matches that reward positioning and quick decisions. Full controller support and Steam Deck compatibility broaden accessibility for those preferring gamepad play. Solo and bot-assisted options provide entry points for practice or offline sessions, while the career track adds long-term goals through levels and badges. Those seeking isometric action with racing and combat layers will find a self-contained experience built around repeatable online or solo matches.
