The Awakening
You open your eyes to cold fluorescent light and the hum of machinery. A research facility stretches out before you β sterile corridors, locked doors, and the faint smell of something burned. You don't know your name. You don't know how you got here. The only thing you know is that you need to get out.
Strapped to your wrist is a device you don't remember putting on. When you press the button, something impossible happens: a ghost of yourself appears, replaying the last 15 seconds of your actions. The researchers called them temporal echoes. You'll call them your only way out.
The Facility
This place was built to study time. The notes left behind speak of breakthroughs and disasters, of test subjects pushed too far, of an experiment that should never have been approved. Room by room, you'll piece together what happened here β and why you were left behind.
Scattered clipboards hold riddles written by those who came before. Some are warnings. Some are puzzles. One name keeps appearing in the margins: Subject 47. They escaped. The path they carved through this facility is still here, hidden in cryptic clues and half-burned documents. Follow their footsteps, or forge your own.
The Echoes
The device on your wrist can store up to three temporal echoes β perfect 15-second recordings of your past self. These aren't just recordings. They're real. Your echoes can press buttons, stand on pressure plates, and hold doors open while the real you moves freely.
The facility was designed to be inescapable by a single person. But you're not a single person anymore.
Record your actions β Walk a path, press a button, pull a lever. Your echo will replay it exactly.
Layer multiple echoes β Later rooms require two or three echoes working in perfect synchronization.
Time everything precisely β 15 seconds isn't long. Every step matters.
The Puzzles
Each room in the facility presents a new challenge:
Timed button sequences β Some doors require multiple buttons held simultaneously. Record echoes to hold them while you walk through.
Multi-floor coordination β Elevators, staircases, and launch pads connect sprawling vertical rooms. Your echoes can ride lifts and reach platforms you can't.
Cryptic riddles β The researchers left clues in their notes. Colored buttons, symbol sequences, and environmental hints guide you to solutions.
Escalating complexity β What starts as simple single-echo puzzles evolves into intricate three-echo choreography across multiple floors.

What Makes Echo Shift Different
Most puzzle games give you tools that exist outside yourself. Echo Shift makes you the tool. Your echoes aren't AI companions or summoned helpers β they're recordings of your own decisions, your own timing, your own path through the room. When a puzzle clicks, it's because you choreographed yourself perfectly.
There's no combat. No enemies. Just you, your echoes, and rooms designed to be impossible β until they're not.
