BOINKERS! is an indie casual racing game built for massively multiplayer sessions on PC. Up to a dozen players control odd flying creatures in frantic races across fully three dimensional obstacle courses filled with hazards that punish mistakes with bounces and lost time.
Gameplay
Players flap their creatures through the air rather than running or driving. Movement requires aiming in three dimensions and timing flaps to weave past obstacles. Classic pipes, giant fans, rolling boulders, crushers, meteors, and pools of lava appear throughout the courses. Contact with a non-lethal object triggers a BOINK bounce that sends the creature flying off course and costs valuable seconds. The emphasis stays on precise navigation and quick recovery after collisions with rivals or the environment.
Each session lasts four rounds. Points are awarded based on finishing position and performance in every round. There are no eliminations, so a poor start in the opening rounds does not end participation. The final round includes a special Last Chance phase where points can be taken away, transferred between players, defended, or doubled, creating opportunities for comebacks on the leaderboard.
Game Modes
Core play revolves around racing through Flappy-style courses and escaping mazes while collecting stars. These activities form the basis of the four-round competitions. Additional modes such as Star Hunt, Survival, Tag, and Dogfight remain planned for the full release and are not yet available.
Progression ties directly to performance across rounds. Consistent play earns XP and coins that unlock new skins and cosmetics for the flying creatures. The customization system lets players create distinctive appearances without affecting core mechanics.
Multiplayer Experience
Sessions support 10 to 12 participants at once, turning every course into a crowded scramble of flapping bodies and intentional or accidental collisions. The absence of eliminations keeps all players engaged until the final round, and the Last Chance phase adds a layer of strategic point management that rewards timing and positioning.
Controls remain straightforward for new players yet demand practice to master the three-dimensional movement and bounce recovery. The game rewards repeated attempts at the same courses as players learn obstacle patterns and refine their flapping rhythm.
Is It Worth Playing?
BOINKERS! suits groups seeking short, repeatable multiplayer chaos rather than long solo campaigns. The no-elimination structure and point-shifting final round keep matches competitive from start to finish. Customization through earned XP and coins provides steady progression without requiring purchases. Players who enjoy lighthearted obstacle navigation and social competition will find the core loop accessible yet demanding enough to encourage improvement. Those preferring polished single-player depth or fully released additional modes may want to wait for further updates.
