Best Steam Deals This Week (August 10 - 16, 2026)

Mid August, barely anything new worth buying, and suddenly your backlog looks very appealing. Twenty five Steam deals this week, discounts up to 95%, and more than half of the list is sitting at the lowest price it has ever had. Ubisoft is the loud one: both Ghost Recon games went to 95% off and neither has ever been cheaper.

Highlights of the Week

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands at 2.49 USD next to Ghost Recon Breakpoint at 2.99 USD is the silly one this week. Two enormous open world shooters, both 95% off, both at their all time low, and together they still cost less than a pint. Wildlands is the better game and the better co-op night out. Breakpoint got quietly patched into something decent years after everyone finished shouting about it. Three friends and a free weekend, and the weekend is sorted.

The Quarry at 5.99 USD is the one we would happily have paid more for. Ninety percent off a 2022 horror game with a proper cast, and it has never been this cheap. Play it on the couch with someone else, pass the controller around, watch a teenager die because your mate panicked at the wrong moment. That is the entire pitch and it absolutely works.

STEINS;GATE at 5.99 USD is also at its floor, sitting at 97% positive, which is the sort of number a visual novel only gets when it earns it. And if you just want something daft for pocket change, Peggle Deluxe is 0.99 USD and MUSYNX is 0.99 USD. Two decades of PopCap muscle memory for less than a coffee.

Should You Buy Now or Wait?

Anything at its all time low is a straight buy, and that covers most of this list: both Ghost Recons, The Quarry, Overcooked! 2, Rogue Legacy, STEINS;GATE, Peggle Deluxe, Witch It, SUPERHOT, Tavern Master, For The King, ENDER LILIES and MUSYNX. Waiting on those gets you nothing except the chance to pay more in October. Worth knowing: the Ghost Recon pair ends Sunday, so that one has a clock on it.

The Bethesda shelf is where we would sit on our hands. DOOM at 3.99 USD is exactly twice what it has gone for before, and The Elder Scrolls Online and Fallout 76 are both at two and a half times their record low. Same story with Disco Elysium and Scorn, which look like steals until you notice both have been two and a half times cheaper. None of them are going anywhere. Let the autumn sale handle it.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey is the genuinely borderline one. It is about a third above its best price ever, which normally means wait, except it is also a hundred hour game and that maths works out fine at this price.
