Under Pressure - about the game

In the abyss, a Diver races toward the surface while evading the Kraken in this tense strategy card game. Each card marks a progression stage from #0 in the depths to #42 at the top. The Diver advances up to three stages per turn, while the Kraken guesses played cards-up to three per turn-to capture him, but a single wrong guess fails the attempt. The Diver sacrifices cards for boosts, gaining +2 stages per discard to leap ahead or mislead the foe. Cards sort into three decks by value: 1-14, 15-28, and 29-41, demanding smart picks for victory. Kraken players risk bold multi-guesses to close in faster. This adaptation of Tim Fowers's Fugitive suits sharp tacticians who relish cat-and-mouse duels on PC.



In the abyss, the Diver meets the Kraken! To survive he will have to reach the surface!

Each card represents a progression stage, from the abyss #0 to the surface #42.

Goals:
  • Diver wants to reach the surface, he starts from card #0 and can step up to 3 stages max per turn
  • Kraken wants to catch him by guessing all he's played cards. Kraken can guess up to 3 cards per turn.

Gameplay:
  • Diver can use boosts by sacrificing a card. It can extend step by +2 per sacrificed card! It can be used to play far cards or to trick Kraken!
  • Kraken can guess multiple cards each turn, but if one is wrong, guess is failed! It helps to catch Diver faster but might be risky!

Cards are distributed in three decks according to their value: 1-14, 15-28, 29-41.
