The apocalypse came and went and mutated all the animals into vicious monstrosities. The surviving people hide from these bloodthirsty beasts behind the tall, thick walls of their towns.
You are Blake O’Grady, a convict who’s agreed to become a train conductor for a chance at freedom. Your train’s not that fast, not that strong, and its route winds through all the deadliest parts of the no-man’s-land between towns.
