About The Flying Dutchman

The Flying Dutchman - about the game

The Flying Dutchman is a 3D adventure puzzle platforming pirate game set in the sky.

You find yourself in a realm called the Twilight Sea, a purgatory-like dimension where cursed sailors and lost souls are trapped. This realm consists of floating islands scattered across an endless ocean.

You are here after having made a fateful deal with a mysterious entity known as the Tempest to save their crew during a catastrophic storm. The deal backfired, trapping you in the Twilight Sea where time resets with each sunset.

The few humans still alive in this realm are other captains who made similar deals or were otherwise cursed. Most inhabitants are spectral beings, cursed creatures, or transformed humans who have forgotten their past lives after countless loops.

Explore the Twilight Sea!

The Twilight Sea is home to an archipelago of floating islands, each distinct and unique in the content they have to offer. Whether it be the small barren woods or the sprawling Townport, there is always something new to find whereever you may go!

Interact with the World!

The game features a multitude of different items and objects to interact within the world, including tools, keys, doors, scrolls, and most importantly: treasure!

Avoid Danger!

The game features some obstacles in the way of players, most notably, cannon damage. This can cause your ship to break apart as well as you taking damage from the heavy onslaught of attacks.

Repair Your Ship!

Even after your ship may take heavy damage, you can use the sources that you find such as wood to repair your boat. Not repairing the ship fast enough can lead to further deterioriation, so don't forget to patch up the holes before you have nothing left to sail!
