In The Directorate you play as a spy vying to stop unthinkable destruction. You must sneak, fight and trick your way through countless grunts, guards and bosses. The 60s themed comical experience will challenge the player to foil the destructive plans of a malevolent overlord within pre-set in game hours. Taking influence from nostalgic classics such as Metal Gear Solid the game will shine a light on top down espionage gameplay.
In the mid-1960s, only The Directorate fights to balance the ambitions of world super-powers and prevent global annihilation. Then a top agent on the brink of death delivers a cryptic message that suggests a new player has stepped onto the world stage and could upset this precarious stability. Having decoded the message, agent Alistair Knight is given the dangerous task of investigating this slim lead. It is a chance to redeem himself after the failure of his last mission.
The location in the message turns out to be a remote island with a seemingly dormant volcano, which turns out to be occupied by an unknown group going by name of SAINT.
Gaining access by stealth, Knight finds the interior of the volcanic mountain has been turned into a huge base equipped with cutting edge weapons and technology. Hordes of guards patrol constantly and make his task even more difficult.
