RED VEIL is a gothic cyberpunk duel-crawler drawn in two colours and blood.
Vesper, year 31 of the Veil. The sun has not touched these streets in thirty-one years. Deep under the city, an Aurora drill breaks into a forgotten crypt, and the wall starts to bleed. Inside is a knight who has been asleep for centuries.
Aurora rebuilds him on an operating table: a chrome arm, a chrome spine, a red mechanical eye. A voice in his implants that calls itself MOTH tells him to get off the table before they put him back under. He remembers nothing but candlelight, a woman's voice, and a gate that must stay shut.
Every fight is a one-on-one duel. Enemies telegraph every swing: tap block at the last instant to parry, and read the white flash that means "don't block this, dodge it". Punish openings with combos and charged strikes until their posture breaks, then sink your teeth in to heal and refill your blood. They fight like bodies with weight: they step into their swings, let their blows carry through, and when they die they fall with all of it.
Walk the rain-soaked streets of Vesper, from the dig site through the Night Market, Clinic 12, the chapel of St. Lumen, the dead Line 0 subway and the UV-flooded Sunline Avenue, all the way to the Spire Plaza and the Doorman who guards its gate.
Pell has lost his sister to Clinic 12. Sable sells what people need and buys what they shouldn't have. Doc Marrow can tune the chrome Aurora left in you, and Father Ansel knows the broken sun on your sword. Listen to them, help them or walk away.
Blood carries memory. Fragments of another life flash past: a courtyard in daylight, a rose pressed into your palm, hands pressing mortar into the gap. Piece together who sealed you in that wall, and why.
Every frame is drawn in two colours and one accent. Keep the classic ink and bone with blood red, or repaint the whole game: 12 colour pairs, from Playdate and Paper to Amber Screen and Negative, and 6 accent colours, from blood red and neon pink to toxic green, or none at all.
