◆Story
Legends from the 19th century have survived to the present day, and historical records attribute the desolation of the castle and its surroundings to a natural disaster; and a novel whose author shares my name suggests that the disaster was man-made. The father, unable to accept the loss of his daughter, sought out all manner of witches and spells, even going so far as to sacrifice a living person in order to bring the dead girl back to life.
I also came across a young woman sleeping in a coffin, Hetty. Her torso was covered with splicing marks and she seemed to have forgotten much, wondering at her own existence but not very suspicious of me as an outsider. She even begged me to help her recover her memories...
After a few days of research and organisation, Hetty and I were getting on well, but I saw a lot of anomalies here, from modern research rooms to early 19th century studies, the castle was a chaotic dislocation of time and space.
The story of the past also unravels: the cover-up of a husband and wife, the hidden illness of a twin sister, and three adopted sons and daughters.
And Hetty - I suspect the spliced body and brain has given her a major problem with self-recognition - suddenly changes the tone of her speech and the way she walks when she hears about these things, as if someone else has taken over the body.
She said, "You came back after all."
◆Gameplay
To find out the truth about the castle, players can choose to talk to Hetty to increase their understanding of each other; they can also explore at any time, and if they are lucky enough to pick up items, they can give them to Hetty to unlock certain special interactions.
As you gain experience, Hetty will remember more of her past and change her attitude towards you based on various values such as Favourability, Events, Sanity Value, etc., and the secret of the old castle seems to be coming out. ......
