About Enter the Cube

Enter the Cube - about the game

Enter the Cube is a multiplayer action game set in a procedurally assembled giant cube filled with lethal traps and shifting cover. Twenty players enter matches built from a library of hand-designed rooms, where the last survivor claims victory amid collapsing outer sections and a single powerful sniper rifle that draws attention from everyone else on the map.

Gameplay

The core loop revolves around navigating a randomly generated cube made from 36 rooms drawn from a seed-based library. No two matches share the same layout, so prior knowledge offers no advantage. Each door carries a danger tier label ranging from safe to lethal, allowing players to plan routes or risk high-reward paths through piston floors, flame waves, crushing presses, tesla cages, lava crucibles, frozen seas, and neon bowling lanes with oversized balls. Cover shifts independently in many rooms, and entire outer rings detach and fall into the void over time, shrinking the playable area from 36 rooms down through successive stages until only one remains.

Combat centers on nine weapons distributed among twelve zodiac-themed fighters with animal heads, including tiger, fox, panda, horse, rabbit, and leopard variants. The standout item remains the single sniper rifle available each match. It delivers one-shot kills yet slows movement, broadcasts the wielder's location across the map, and alerts every remaining player. Trap families add environmental hazards that activate on timers or contact, forcing constant movement and awareness. The design emphasizes reading door markings, adapting to moving elements, and surviving the progressive collapse without any traditional shrinking circle mechanic.

Game Modes

The primary experience supports up to twenty participants in a free-for-all last-one-standing format. Matches begin with four human players minimum, with bots filling remaining slots as needed. Solo practice pits one player against nineteen bots for isolated testing of rooms and weapons. Friends can join directly through Steam integration or via local area network discovery and direct IP connections, enabling couch or room-based sessions without online requirements.

No additional named modes appear beyond these options. The structure prioritizes quick lobby starts and flexible group sizes while maintaining the core twenty-player cube confrontation as the central draw.

Room Library and Progression

Fifteen or more mechanism rooms populate the current library, each graded across four danger tiers visible on entry doors. Examples include bullet trains crossing tracks, endgame boards where colored sections vanish, and ferries that serve as the sole safe passage over magma. The one-person studio behind the title builds the experience openly in Godot, expanding the room set based on play feedback. Rooms that fail to deliver tension or fairness with a full player count receive adjustments before wider release.

Is It Worth Playing?

Enter the Cube suits players who enjoy high-stakes multiplayer action with procedural variety and environmental hazards rather than standard battle royale formats. Its early access status means the room library continues to grow, and direct input through the developer's Discord shapes future additions. Support for local play, bots, and small groups lowers the barrier for testing, while the unique sniper and collapsing cube mechanics provide distinct tension. Those seeking consistent updates from a solo developer and fresh layouts each session will find the most value here, especially if they prefer adapting on the fly over memorizing fixed maps.
