About Chaos Combat

Chaos Combat - about the game

Chaos Combat is a platform fighter created by Infernia Inferno that focuses primarily on silly bombastic characters with explosive potential! The game aims to bring a fresh outlook to the platform fighter scene by taking inspiration from both platform and traditional fighters.

Currently in a beta state, featuring 7 unique playable characters, as well as 18 stages.

Planned implementation of singleplayer modes and other stuff later, it's far from done atm

Characters ~

Keven - A wandering piglet who fights for the weak, Keven is an all rounder character designed to be a good entryway into the feel and mechanics of the game. He wields a wide array of tools that can be used for zoning, brawling, and mobility.

Ruby - A battle hungry glass cannon who utilizes the infernal flame as well as her sword, the Eruption. Every time she hits an opponent, her flare meter goes up, which can be spent on projectiles. Be careful though, as taking damage and recovering also consumes it!

Rose - A friendly archer and loving girlfriend to Ruby - she plays a game of keep away using several projectiles, an ivy whip, and Nature's Wrath - a bow that can also become an axe. The more she zones the more she heals!

Fley - A goon who uses his evil plushes, guns, vents, and crates to gain massive stage control. He has a long reaching scythe, and several devastating spikes. Beware their random crits!

Dr. Star - A world destroying tyrant, capable of tanking planet destroying blows. He's deceptively fast, and has a long reaching axe capable of cutting his foes into pieces. You'd better be careful to not let him go too long without damage, as he'll build up passive starmor (armor).

Ghoulia - A zombie skeleton vampire hybrid who feeds on the living, while pulling as many pranks as she can. She's rather oppressive to fight against with her many traps and pressuring tools, as well as moves that combo well into each other.

David - A hero of many worlds, David wields power granted by four elemental orbs he keeps equipped, said orbs having names of their own - Pyro, Pulse, Frostbite, and Void. Pyro allows him to wield flames, Pulse equips him with a super-extending blade known as Storm's Wrath, Frostbite allows the use of a frozen shield with icy spikes, and Void grants the power of darkness.

There's also Carrie but she's not done yet i'm workin on it

Features ~

Grabs - Latch onto a target and toss them around! Grabs can be done both on the ground, and in midair, although will have less KB and release faster in the air. If you get grabbed, then if you hold the direction you think your opponent is going to throw you, you will escape the grab. You can also manually cause a grab escape yourself by pressing guard, if you wanted to do that for some reason.

Ledge - Latch onto ledges, and either roll from them or perform an attack up them.

Parry - If you hold the guard button, you will block most damage from targets (Minus hitgrabs as well as typical grabs) for as long as you hold it. However, if you get hit within the first few frames of guarding, you will instead perform a parry, reflecting any projectiles you were hit by, as well as giving momentary invulnerability and slowing your opponent down.

Sparkle Meter - Build up Meter by dealing damage to the opponent! It separates itself into 4 stacks, and each stack can be spent for various abilities

Sparkle Strongs - Power up your strong attacks by pressing the meter button whilst charging a strong attack! This causes it to deal higher damage and knockback. Uses a stack of meter.

Ultimaguard - Power up your guard with meter in order to block all damage, even reflecting some of it back at your target. Also blocks command grabs., and reflects projectiles. Be warned though, the longer you hold it, the more meter you use!

Armageddon Rush - Press meter and grab at the same time in order to perform the Armageddon Rush. This additionally requires to you fill up the Armageddon Crystal in it's entirety, as well as consuming a stack of meter. You will know if you can use this if a ribbon is displayed below the crystal.

The Armageddon Rush allows you to cancel all knockback as well as whatever state you are in. This can be used offensively to extend combos, or defensively to cancel all your knockback. Using it for the latter however will use up the entire crystal, and if enough knockback was blocked, fracture the crystal until you die. Fractured crystals cannot be used to Armageddon Rush out of hurtstun.

Armageddon Rush can additionally be used if no direction is held to convert your current momentum into whatever actionable state you so desire.

Ultimate - Use all your meter at once for an all out attack, uniquely styled after each character and their skillset.

For all my other platform fighter fans out there you can also Wavedash, Moonwalk, and also Hitfall.
