An experimental project by Camelot.TDM
You are a cop who wakes up on a train bound for "Metallurg-63". Your task is to complete a "random" mission and leave the town. The story branches based on pre-scripted scenarios, unfolding through procedural patterns. Each playthrough presents choices that lead to one of several possible endings.
The game blends the following genres:
Psychological horror - no jump scares, just oppressive atmosphere created through visuals and music, with subtle mystical elements and focus on the protagonist's mental state.
Extraction Shooter - occasional gunplay. This also serves as a logical story conclusion - you arrive in town, complete your objective, and attempt to leave.
Walking Simulator - some playthroughs may require no shooting, but extensive urban exploration. You'll learn the town layout better with each run.
Visual Novel - about 50 NPCs with most being interactable through dialogue. Each has individual karma systems affecting responses. You can complete tasks to gain trust or extract information by force (with unpredictable consequences).
Roguelike - playthrough variability, different "builds", partially randomized loot, and high replayability through narrative branches.
Survival horror - simple but crucial mechanics: freezing system (warm up at burning barrels) and stamina, plus environmental hazards (thin ice, open manholes, etc.).
Role-playing game - after each run you'll see consequences of your actions and their impact on characters. The RPG aspect specifically involves roleplaying your character.
