Horla is a Horror game where you play as Moacir Gonçalo, a private detective that is hired to investigate an old mysterious haunted house. Moacir must embark on a journey in a house that seems alive, where rooms change places, shadow beings seem to follow him and traumas from his past come to life.
The detective uncovers the story of the spirit that appears to be controlling the house, an ancient entity called Horla.
Horla is a 3D first-person horror game with survival and exploration elements, as well as puzzles and interactive storytelling.
The environment is a living creature trying to kill the protagonist and causing conflicts, with traps and challenges. The game does not have a monster that chases the player during the game like in other clichés. Here, the house is the monster.
Horla has a strong focus on the visual style that resembles the work of visual artist Mike Mignola where we seek to work with a stylized gothic cartoon art, with strong contrasts with the color black and working with limited colors.
The game delves into psychological thriller aspects involving PTSD, surpassing the fusion of war elements and horror. A war survivor is haunted by specters of death, explosions, mutilation, and despair.
