Uncover the lore of the town through pages scattered around the town’s randomly generated landscape. With each new finding, you’ll begin to fill out the codex, which holds everything you’ve learned from creature weaknesses to potion recipes, and even the story you will piece together.
Upgrade your combat based on your playstyle.
Collect plants and drops from creatures or animals and use them in your recipes. Players can choose to create and upgrade weapons to fight off enemies from a distance, or craft potions to change their abilities for a more direct and effective approach. Be careful, however, as changing yourself too drastically may end in disaster.
Use elemental strengths and weaknesses to your advantage.
There is an array of status effects and buffs that will impact both you and the creatures. You can use this to your advantage while upgrading and in combat. In crafting, give careful consideration to your status effect combinations - some may be especially powerful, while others may leave your weapon useless. The same goes for combat against creatures - some creatures will have weaknesses against particular status effects, and strength against others. Be cautious in combat, as these effects can be used against you as well.

Experience the cycles of the moon.
Moon cycles will affect the behaviors of the monsters within the world. The moon brings out the aggressiveness in some monsters, making the night all the more dangerous for the player to survive.
Decide your future.
Your actions will lead to one of five unique endings. You could solve the town's problems once and for all, or risk making things even worse. Be careful how you die, as it may come back to haunt you in future playthroughs in the form of a mutated monster, or even aid you if you come across a past grave.
